Volkswagen: continues with its SUV offensive
(CercleFinance.com) - Every second Volkswagen passenger cars sold throughout the world by 2025 will probably be an SUV, the German car maker said on Thursday.
Volkswagen - which is in the midst of the largest SUV offensive in the company's history - will be offering more than 30 SUV models worldwide by 2025.
VW said it expects especially strong growth in SUV sales in North and South America, as well as in China.
Every fifth car sold now is an SUV, Volkswagen said. In this range, the compact Tiguan is now one of the 10 best-selling cars in the world, with almost five million units sold.
