Siemens: signs industrial cloud deal with Volkswagen
(CercleFinance.com) - On Friday Siemens said that it has won a deal with Volkswagen, becoming the German auto giant's integration partner in industrial cloud.
Siemens said that it will ensure the efficient networking of production systems, machinery and equipment of various manufacturers at the car maker's 122 plants.
Volkswagen and Siemens also intend to develop new functions and services together, with machinery and equipment suppliers that could be used in the future.
On Wednesday Volkswagen signed up for Amazon's cloud computing service, with AWS automating its automobile manufacturing and logistics processes.
