Daimler: launches new group structure
(CercleFinance.com) - Daimler said on Monday that it has launched its new corporate structure, with the separation of the car and van and the truck and bus businesses into two new subsidiaries taking effect.
Three legally independent entities will now operate under the parent company Daimler.
Under the new group structure, Mercedes-Benz is responsible for Mercedes-Benz cars and vans.
All trucks and buses activities are conducted at Daimler Truck.
Finally, Daimler Financial Services - which has been legally independent for many years - has been renamed Daimler Mobility, with the unit also responsible for mobility services.
As the parent company, Daimler will be responsible for governance, strategy and control functions.
The move is intended to strengthen its customer focus and increase its agility, the German auto giant said.
