Daimler: Mercedes sales fall in US in June
(CercleFinance.com) - In June, car sales recorded by Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA), the US subsidiary of the German Daimler brand, fell by 9.
7% to 26,191 units.
At the same time, MBUSA sold 2,808 vans and 126 ultra-compact Smart vehicles, for a total of 29,125 units sold.
Cumulative sales from January to June reached 176,408 units for all types of vehicles combined, down 1.9% year-on-year.
Chairman and CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, Dietmar Exler said that June sales were mainly penalised by the limited availability of larger SUV models and GLE and GLS models, where production was hit by a fire at a supplier's site in May.
