Infineon: multi-year contract with Hyundai Motor and Kia
(CercleFinance.com) - Infineon announced on Wednesday that it had signed a multi-year agreement with South Korean carmakers Hyundai Motor and Kia for the supply of power semiconductors.
Under the terms of the deal, both companies will be able to secure their supply of silicon and silicon carbide (SiC) components from the German company until 2030.
This agreement comes at a time when Infineon is planning to increase capacity at its Kulim site (Malaysia), where the group intends to establish the world's largest plant dedicated to 200 mm diameter silicon carbide wafers.
The financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
