Deutsche Boerse: DAX could rise from 30 to 40 constituents
(CercleFinance.com) - Qontigo's index provider STOXX, a unit of Deutsche Boerse Group, said on Monday that it has launched a market consultation as part of a reform that could see the DAX index go from 30 to 40 constituents.
In the wake of the Wirecard scandal, the index provider said that the reform could also force companies to prove their profitability when included in the DAX index.
Likewise, a requirement of quarterly reporting for inclusion in the DAX index and submission of audited annual reports in due time could also be considered, with sanctioning options in case of non-compliance, all the way up to a deletion from the index, the provider said.
The consultation is open to all market participants until 4 November.
