BMW: Plug&Charge function introduced
(CercleFinance.com) - From mid-2023, a Plug&Charge function will be available on the first BMW models, enabling drivers to charge up with electricity at public charging stations without having to use a charging card or app.
The authentication required to initiate the charging process and billing is carried out automatically via a data exchange between the vehicle and the charging station.
The offer is flexible: BMW Group is the first car maker to integrate a multi-contract functionality into its Plug&Charge offer. This enables customers to digitally store their current multiple charging contracts from at least five different suppliers in the vehicle.
