BMW: mobility joint venture starts next phase in expansion
(CercleFinance.com) - BMW and Daimler are now on track for the next phase in the expansion of their mobility joint venture, with the introduction of a new umbrella organisation comprising three pillars.
The carmakers, which want to focus on profitable growth, said the new structure, which will be effective as of 1 January 2020, will include the (1) taxi and ride-hailing service Free Now, (2) free-floating car-sharing provider Share Now, and (3) charging infrastructure Charge Now and digital parking solution Park Now.
BMW and Daimler said they are are determined to develop the joint venture -which now has a total of almost 90 million customers - up 44% since the start of 2019, into a "leading player" on the mobility market.
