BMW: new ambitions for charging points in Germany

(CercleFinance.com) - BMW will install over 4,100 charging points for electrified vehicles at its German locations by 2021, the German premium carmaker said on Tuesday.

The new charging infrastructure will enable BMW employees to charge their cars conveniently at their workplace with attractive conditions, while around half of the charging points will also be open to the public.

The majority of the charging points will be installed in the greater Munich area, BMW said.

Power supply is set to come from renewable energies.

With a market share of 21%, BMW is currently the leader for electrified vehicles in Germany.

According to the group's estimates, a quarter of its vehicles sold in Europe will be electrified by 2021, a third by 2025 and half by 2030.
