Nestlé: organic growth boosted by volumes

(CercleFinance.com) - Slightly outperforming expectations, the Swiss agri-food giant Nestlé recorded sales of 21.
3 billion Swiss francs in Q1 2018 (+1.4% as reported).

Driven almost entirely by volumes, organic growth reached 2.8%, while consensus was expecting around 2.5% growth.

Mark Schneider, Nestlé CEO: "We are pleased to report a solid start to the year, with all regions contributing to our growth. Our volume growth improved noticeably while pricing remained soft.

Nestlé has confirmed its forecasts, including 2018 like-for-like sales growth of between 2% and 4%. For the record, this rate was 2.4% in 2017 (1.6 point for volumes), with 1.9% in the fourth quarter.
