ABB: wins contract in the UK.
(CercleFinance.com) - ABB reported on Thursday morning that it had signed a 130 million dollar contract in the UK to build the power transmission infrastructure for EDF Energy's new Hinkley Point C power plant in Somerset.
Hinkley Point C, which is the first nuclear power plant built in the UK for a generation, will provide 7% of the UK's electricity by 2025.
This order will be recorded in ABB's Q3 accounts, the Swiss group said, which also mentioned that the project will create around 25,000 job opportunities.
