Roche: cobas system gets FDA nod for two STDs

(CercleFinance.com) - Roche's cobas system has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for the detection of chlamydia trachomatis and neisseria gonorrhoeae, two sexually transmitted infections that are increasingly prevalent worldwide.

The FDA has provided clearance for use of the cobas 6800/8800 systems for the direct detection of both infections in symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals.

Separately, Roche's unit Genentech said that new data on its medicines for neurological conditions will be presented at the American Academy of Neurology Annual meeting of 21-27 April in Los Angeles, California.

In particular, this data will reinforce the efficacy and safety of Ocrevus in multiple sclerosis, it said.
