Roche: EU medicines agency backs three drugs.

(CercleFinance.com) - Roche said on Friday that three of its drugs have been backed by CHMP, the key panel of Europe's health regulator.

First, the EU committee for medicinal products for human use (CHMP) has adopted a positive opinion for Tecentriq as a monotherapy for the treatment of adults with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after they have been previously treated with chemotherapy.

Simultaneously, the CHMP has recommended EU approval of Roche's Gazyvaro for people with previously untreated advanced follicular lymphoma.

Finally, the CHMP has adopted a positive opinion recommending approval of Actemra/RoActemra for the treatment of giant cell arteritis (GCA), a chronic and potentially life-threatening auto-immune condition, meaning that an approval could well occur "in the near future".
