Bombardier: wins 256 million euro French trains deal
(CercleFinance.com) - Bombardier said on Monday that it has been awarded a 256 million euro contract to supply 19 trains to the French national rail operator, the SNCF.
The Canadian train builder received an order for Omneo Premium double-deck trains on behalf of the Hauts-de-France region. They will be used on the high-frequency Paris-to-Amiens and Paris-to-Saint Quentin-Maubeuge/Cambrai lines, it said.
The deal is part of the contract signed in 2010 with SNCF to provide up to 860 double-deck-trains to French regions.
The first trains are scheduled for delivery in 2022.
