Bombardier: contract with Singapore's LTA
(CercleFinance.com) - Today, Bombardier Transport announced the signature of a contract with Singapore's Land Transport Authority (LTA).
This contract includes the supply of 396 Bombardier MOVIA metro cars for passengers on the north-south and east-west Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) lines.
The value of the contract comes to approximately 827 million Singapore dollars (607 million US dollars or 519 million euros). The contract includes an option for long-term service support. It could be worth up to 1.2 billion Singapore dollars (881 million US dollars or 753 million euros).
The new order for 396 metro cars takes the number of MOVIA vehicles in Singapore up to 672, making it one of the largest Bombardier metro fleets in the world.
