Bombardier: wins deal to supply railcars to Australia
(CercleFinance.com) - Bombardier will build and deliver 27 additional diesel railcars for the Victorian State Government in Australia, the Canadian train and plane maker said on Wednesday.
The order will bring the total fleet to 264 railcars (88 x three car-sets), with passenger service set to begin in 2019.
The contract is worth approximately 112 US dollars (about 95 million euros) in all, Bombardier said.
Trains are to be manufactured locally in Dandenong, supporting over 600 jobs in the region, it added.
