AB InBev: acquires craft beer producer in US
(CercleFinance.com) - Anheuser-Busch, the US arm of Belgian beer giant AB InBev, has acquired Platform Beer Co, a rapidly developing regional brewer.
Founded in 2014 by two Cleveland entrepreneurs, Paul Benner and Justin Carson, Platform has made a name for itself by creating over 200 beer recipes each year, many of which have won awards.
In addition to a tasting bar in Cleveland, the beer brand has a 60-barrel brewery in Cleveland, a tasting room in Columbus, and another tasting room and café in Cincinnati.
Anheuser-Busch says that over the past three years it has invested over 130 million dollars in its craft brands, enabling them to recruit staff, open new premises and increase volumes.
