ABB: wins 42 million dollar train order in India

(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss-Swedish engineering company ABB said that it has won a contract worth over 42 million dollars to supply converters for electric locomotives in India.


Under the terms of the deal - its largest traction equipment order in India - the company will custom design the converters for Indian Railways and will manufacture them at its factory for locomotive applications in Nelamangala, Southern India.

Last year, the Indian government approved plans to fully electrify the Indian Railways' network by 2022.
