Whirlpool: easily beats consensus in Q2

(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday evening, household appliance maker Whirlpool announced Q2 adjusted EPS that is down 46.
4% at 2.15 dollars, although this is significantly above the consensus of just under 0.90 dollar.

Penalised by the disruption caused by the pandemic, its adjusted operating margin contracted by 1.8% to 5.2%, with sales down 22.1% to 4.04 billion dollars.

While the full impact of the health crisis remains uncertain, Whirlpool now expects its sales to decline by around 10% to 15% in 2020 (less than its previous range of 13% to 18%), including a 7%-to-12% fall in organic terms (vs. 10% to 15% expected previously).
