Western Union: EPS boosted by gains on divestments

(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday night, Western Union unveiled Q2 EPS that has tripled to 2.
42 dollar, thanks to a pre-tax net gain of about 525 million dollars on the divestments of Speedpay and Paymap.

However, in adjusted terms, the cross-border transfer specialist's EPS fell slightly to 45 cents, from 46 cents last year, which is pretty much in line with analysts' expectations.

At 1.3 billion dollars, Western Union's revenues decreased by 5% at reported, although increased by 4% excluding FX effects, a difference that in particular reflects the depreciation of the Argentine peso against the dollar.
