Visa: buys point of sale specialist Payworks

(CercleFinance.com) - Visa has acquired Payworks, a German provider of payment gateway software for the point of sale, with the aim of providing an omnichannel payment management platform.


The plan is to bring Payworks' cloud-based solution for in-store payment processing together with its digital payment management platform, to create a fully integrated payment acceptance solution for merchants, the credit card company said.

As a reminder, Visa made a first investment in Payworks in February 2018.
