Visa: contactless cards accepted on New York City subway

(CercleFinance.com) - Chase customers will soon be able to use their Visa cards to ride New York City's subways and buses, removing the need to stand in line to purchase or recharge a separate card, the companies said on Wednesday.

Whether a local or visitor to New York City, the 20 million Chase customers who have Visa contactless cards will soon be able to just tap their cards or mobile device to ride on the subway or bus, they said.

Starting from 31 May, riders can tap to pay and ride at subway stations along the 4, 5 and 6 lines.

The MTA is the first US transit agency to implement contactless payments using Visa's global transit framework, whether it be a Visa contactless card, mobile device or wearable.
