UnitedHealth: raises dividend and plans new share buyback

(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday UnitedHealth raised its quarterly dividend by 20% and said it would renew its share repurchase program.


The largest US health insurer will pay a cash dividend of 0.90 dollar per share on 26 June, to all shareholders on record as of the close of business on 18 June.

This dividend increase is "consistent with the company's pacing of recent years," it said.

UnitedHealth also renewed the company's share repurchase program, authorizing the purchase, over time, of 100 million shares, or approximately 10% of the shares in issue.

This program replaces a June 2014 authorization, under which there were approximately 29 million shares remaining.
