Twitter: Elon Musk announces suspension of purchase

(CercleFinance.com) - In a terse tweet published late morning French time, Elon Musk announced the temporary suspension of his acquisition of Twitter, indicating that he was awaiting details confirming that fake accounts/spam do indeed represent under 5% of users.


Following this announcement, Twitter shares were diving about 18% in pre-market trading today.

For the record, Twitter announced at the end of April that it had reached a definitive agreement to be acquired by Elon Musk for 54.20 dollars per share in cash: the deal was worth around 44 billion dollars.
