Tesla: Morgan Stanley raises target price

(CercleFinance.com) - On Tuesday Morgan Stanley raised its target price for Tesla shares from 1,200 dollars to 1,300 dollars after the company reported Q4 deliveries that were 20% above its estimates.

The broker said that this performance confirms that the world's number one electric vehicle maker is extending its lead over its main rivals.

"Think of the EV race as a marathon," the analyst said.

"Tesla is in the lead at mile number 21. Everybody else is at mile 2 or still tying their shoes," he added.

According to Morgan Stanley, this situation is only beneficial to Elon Musk's group, and not to the sector as a whole, as some may claim.

The share is currently up about 0.7% at around 1,065 dollars in early trading today.
