Target:set to close strores due to riots

(CercleFinance.com) - Target says that it has decided to close some of its stores in the US due to the impact of violent protests sweeping the country after the death of George Floyd at the hands of police.


The American "discount" retailer - which explains that it wants to ensure the safety of its employees and customers - says that it has closed "until further notice" its stores in Broadway Oakland (California), South Atlanta (Georgia), South Loop Chicago ( Illinois), Uptown Minneapolis (Minnesota) and Washington Square Philadelphia (Pennsylvania).

In Minneapolis, its store at 2500 Lake Street - near to where George Floyd was killed, and which was looted last week - is set to be rebuilt and reopened by the end of the year.
