Procter & Gamble: shares up after dividend hike

(CercleFinance.com) - The Procter & Gamble stock rose on Wednesday as the US consumer goods giant raised its dividend.


Shares of P&G - which makes diapers, toothpaste and other personal care and household products - were up 0.1% at 104.8 dollars in early-morning trading, compared with a flat Dow Jones index.

The Cincinnati, Ohio based group said that it has increased its quarterly dividend by 4% to 0.7459 dollar per share, which will payable on 15 May to shareholders on record on 19 April.

The dividend increase marks the 63rd consecutive year that P&G has raised its dividend and the 129th consecutive year that the company has paid a dividend since 1890, the company said.
