Nvidia: to supply AI products to Chinese IT companies

(CercleFinance.com) - Graphics chip maker Nvidia said on Wednesday that several Chinese IT companies and computer makers will start using its AI-based products.

Chinese search engine Baidu, Internet giant Tencent, online retailer JD.com and software maker iFlytek have all begun using the group's T4 architecture to expand and accelerate their hyperscale datacenters, the Californian company said.

Baidu and Tencent are also using Nvidia's supercomputer HGX-2 for AI services, both for their internal use and for their cloud customers, it said.

In addition, several Chinese computer makers — including Inspur, Lenovo, Huawei, Sugon, IPS and H3C — have launched a new range of T4-based servers.

Inspur's AI super-server AGX-5 - which is designed for AI, deep learning and HPC - has been built around Nvidia's products.

Huawei, Lenovo and Sugon have also become NVIDIA HGX-2 cloud server platform partners, the US company said.
