Nike: 'encouraged' by trends in China, Korea

(CercleFinance.com) - Nike said that it is "encouraged" by the recovery it is seeing in China and South Korea, where the vast majority of its stores have now reopened.

While physical store traffic remains below last year's levels, traffic trends in both these markets are progressing, the world's largest sportswear maker said, also citing "higher" conversion rates and "strong" digital demand.

From today, 100% of its own stores and over 95% of partner stores in China and South Korea are open.

Nike also said that it has started to gradually reopen a small number of its stores across North America, Europe and Latin America, when quarantine measures are being eased.

As of today, roughly 40% of its stores in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), 15% in Asia Pacific & Latin America (APLA) and 5% in North America, are open - most of the time with reduced opening hours.
