Netflix: sells 2 billion dollars in senior notes

(CercleFinance.com) - Netflix is selling approximately 2 billion dollars of senior notes to fund content acquisitions, production and development, and investments, the company said on Thursday.


The US streaming company today announced that it intends to offer two series of U.S. dollar denominated and euro denominated senior unsecured notes, through an offering to qualified institutional buyers.

The interest rate, maturity date and other terms will be determined by negotiations with the purchasers, Netflix said.

The Los Gatos-based company said it also intends to use the proceeds for capital expenditures, and potential acquisitions and strategic transactions.
