Moderna: Covid booster dose approved by FDA

(CercleFinance.com) - Moderna announced last night that the US FDA has approved a booster dose (50 mcg) of its Covid vaccine for emergency use in people 65 years of age and older, as well as in people 18-64 years of age who are at high risk of exposure to Covid or of developing a severe form of the disease.


The booster dose should be given at least six months after the first vaccination. It has also been authorised for people who were previously vaccinated with a serum other than that of Moderna.

This emergency use authorisation is supported by strong clinical evidence showing that a booster dose induces a strong immune response against Covid, Moderna said.
