Moderna: new vaccine manufacturing site in France

(CercleFinance.com) - The Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) today announced that it has approved a new manufacturing site for the production of Moderna's Covid vaccine, the Recipharm site in Monts, Indre et Loire.


In addition to this new manufacturing facility, the CHMP has given a positive opinion to the addition of several alternative sites for batch control and testing.

Together, these changes are expected to allow the production of an additional one to two million vials of ready-to-use vaccine for the EU market each month.

The EMA states that its recommendation does not require endorsement by the European Commission, so the Monts site can become operational immediately.
