Merck: set to share the results of its HIV program

(CercleFinance.com) - At the 2021 Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI 2021) to be held from 6 to 10 March Merck will present its clinical development programs for the treatment of HIV.


In particular, Merck will present new data on islatravir and share the results of a last-minute Phase 1 study evaluating a new drug-eluting subcutaneous implant prototype for prolonged administration of islatravir for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).

“We recognize that new strategies for HIV treatment and prevention continue to be needed to address this global epidemic. We look forward to sharing updates from our broad HIV program at CROI,” said Dr. Joan Butterton, vice president, global clinical development, infectious diseases, Merck Research Laboratories.
