Ford: to increase SUV production at Kentucky plant

(CercleFinance.com) - Ford said on Monday that it will increase production of two entirely new SUVs - the Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition - to meet rising customer demand.


The US carmaker plans to invest an additional 25 million dollars at its Kentucky truck plant, bringing the total investment to 925 million dollars, to increase the manufacturing line's speed.

Upgrades include 400 new robots, enhanced data analytics and a new 3D printer, Ford said.

The company has boosted production targets for full-size SUVs by approximately 25% since the autumn.
