Fedex: to step up its ground activities in the US

(CercleFinance.com) - FedEx announces that it will run its ground operations six or seven days a week during the holiday season, and six days a week throughout the year, in response to growing demand related to soaring ecommerce.


The Memphis based logistics group underlined that, while ten years ago daily record volumes amounted to 12 million deliveries, FedEx now processes over 14 million deliveries just on an average day.

Anticipating record volumes again this year over the holiday season (November and December), FedEx plans to increase hours for some existing employees and hire an additional 55,000 seasonal workers.
