ExxonMobil: agreement with Petronas for carbon capture

(CercleFinance.com) - ExxonMobil says it has signed an MoU with Malaysian state-owned Petronas to collaborate and jointly explore potential carbon capture and storage technology projects in Malaysia.


Both energy groups will assess the viability of projects in selected locations offshore from Malaysia and share underground infrastructure and technical data for pipelines, facilities and wells.

The MoU with Petronas is the ninth carbon capture and storage opportunity ExxonMobil has announced since creating its Low Carbon Solutions business in March 2021 to commercialise low-emission technologies.
