ExxonMobil: green fuel projects with Porsche

(CercleFinance.com) - ExxonMobil and Porsche say they will test a lower-carbon Esso Renewable Racing Fuel in race conditions with Porsche's high-performance motorsport engines during the 2021 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.


Their collaboration will also focus on "eFuels", synthetic fuels made from hydrogen and captured CO2. From 2022, they plan to test a second type of Esso Renewable Racing Fuel, which will contain eFuel components.

"The eFuel is anticipated to achieve a greenhouse gas emissions reduction of up to 85 percent, when blended to current market fuel standards for today's passenger vehicles," the companies said.
