Dollar Tree: above expectations in Q2.

(CercleFinance.com) - Before Wall Street opened on Thursday Dollar Tree reported Q2 EPS of 98 cents, up 26 cents y-o-y.


The consensus was less optimistic, expecting EPS of 87 cents.

There was a similar observation in terms of revenues, as analysts were expecting revenues of 5.24 billion dollars, against previously announced growth of 5.7% to 5.28 billion dollars. Furthermore, same-store sales increased by 2.4%, or 0.8 percentage points higher than expected by the market.

Dollar Tree now expects annual revenues of between 22.07 billion and 22.28 billion dollars, compared with 21.95 billion to 22.25 billion dollars previously. EPS is expected to be between 4.44 dollars and 4.6 dollars at end-2017, compared with initial target range of 4.17 dollars to 4.43 dollars.
