Deere: names current COO as new CEO
(CercleFinance.com) - Deere said on Thursday that it has named John May as its new chief executive officer, becoming the 10th chief executive in the company's 182-year history.
May, who is currently chief operating officer, will succeed Samuel Allen, who will continue as board chairman after he steps down from the CEO position in November.
50-year-old May joined Deere in 1997. Over his career, he has headed the company's China operations and served as factory manager in Iowa.
