Caterpillar: acquires CarbonPoint Solutions

(CercleFinance.com) - Caterpillar has announced the acquisition of Enhanced Energy Group, trading as CarbonPoint Solutions, a US company that provides technologies to concentrate and capture CO2 for use or sequestration.


Its systems using patented processes can be applied to engines and turbines at oil and gas sites, industrial and power distribution facilities, and waste-to-energy sites.

“Combining CarbonPoint Solutions' patented technology with Caterpillar Oil & Gas solutions enables us to further reduce greenhouse gas emissions while helping our customers meet their climate-related objectives,” said Rod Shurman, vice president of Caterpillar's Oil & Gas and Marine Division.

The share is up over 1% in early trading on Friday.
