American Airlines announces that it has signed a letter of intent to strengthen its partnership with GOL, the largest Brazilian airline.


The two carriers already have a codeshare agreement (a cooperation for certain flights operated by the partner company) since 2020. However, the strengthened partnership this time provides for an exclusive codeshare agreement and a broader and more lucrative joint SMILES and AAdvantage loyalty scheme programme.

It also includes increased commercial relations with GOL to accelerate growth and create a more seamless experience for all clients.
