Amazon: Roche selects AWS cloud solutions

(CercleFinance.com) - Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced on Tuesday that the Swiss pharmaceutical company Roche is now using its infrastructure to manage its workloads, particularly regarding data.


Roche uses tools from Amazon's cloud subsidiary in areas such as high-performance computing, analytics and machine learning to accelerate the development of new drugs, AWS said.

The Basel-based group is also using Amazon's Redshift data warehouse service to process the massive amount of genomic data from 300,000 cancer patients, while ensuring its integrity.

Using AWS also enables it to share data securely with partners such as academic institutions or health authorities, the Amazon subsidiary said.
