Alphabet: misses consensus in Q1

(CercleFinance.com) - On Tuesday evening Alphabet announced Q1 2020 net profit that is down 18% at 6.
84 billion dollars, or 9.87 dollars per share, therefore missing the consensus by about fifty cents.

The tech giant, parent company of the search engine Google and YouTube, saw its operating margin drop by four points to 19%, for revenues that were up 13% to nearly 41.2 billion dollars (+15% at constant exchange rates).

Ruth Porat, group CFO said that, "Performance was strong during the first two months of the quarter, but then in March we experienced a significant
slowdown in ad revenues".
