SAS: still cautious despite reduced loss

(CercleFinance.com) - SAS said on Tuesday that it is cautious about its business development, even though its loss narrowed in the last quarter.


The Scandinavian airline suffered a net loss of 744 million Swedish kronor (about 72 million euros) in Q4 2020/2021, compared with a loss of 2.6 billion euros the year before.

Revenues from August to October almost doubled to almost 5.8 billion Swedish kronor, almost double the 3 billion Swedish kronor posted a year ag.

While the carrier notes that demand remains strong, it also points to a number of uncertainties that are hampering the ongoing recovery.

Despite some encouraging trends seen over the summer, 2021 has proven to be one of the most challenging years in aviation history and the future remains difficult to predict, mainly due to the problems associated with the current pandemic, it noted.

After these comments, SAS shares were down nearly 5% in late morning trading.
