SAS: September passenger traffic leaps almost 90%

(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday SAS announced a jump of almost 90% in passenger traffic y-o-y in September, which was still dogged by the coronavirus crisis.


The Scandinavian airline said it carried some 1.15 million passengers last month, up 86.9%. This is the third consecutive month in which SAS has carried over one million passengers.

As traffic restrictions are being eased, the group that this it is seeing an immediate effect by an improvement in demand.

However, it believes that there remains uncertainty about the the future of the pandemic, along with future demand, which is forcing the group to remain "agile and flexible".

In the first nine months of the year, traffic reached 6.19 million passengers, down almost a half (over 48%) y-o-y.

The share is currently up about 1.3% following the publication of these figures.
