Ericsson: wins 5G deal with Greece's Cosmote

(CercleFinance.com) - Swedish mobile network gear maker Ericsson said on Wednesday that it has signed a deal to provide Greece's largest mobile communications service provider with 5G radio access network equipment.


The network modernisation deal will boost Cosmote's network quality, capacity, speed and operational efficiency, the group said in a statement.

The mobile arm of OTE (Hellenic Telecommunications Organization), which is part of Deutsche Telekom, plans to commercially launch its 5G services in 2021.

Ericsson currently has 86 commercial 5G deals, of which 39 have been publicly announced.
