Electrolux: to open new innovation center in Italy

(CercleFinance.com) - Swedish home appliances maker Electrolux on Tuesday said that it plans to open an innovation center in northern Italy to facilitate collaboration with external partners.


Based at a refurbished building within an Electrolux manufacturing site in Porcia, the plant is intended to step up initiatives in manufacturing processes, as well as product development, the group said.

The so-called "innovation factory" will work closely with suppliers, customers, incubators, startups, universities, SMEs, and other business partners, Electrolux added.

It will include demonstration and test areas for both product and process solutions, exploring areas such as 3D printing, collaborative robot and wearable technologies and their use for operators in Electrolux factories, the company said.
