Equinor: leaves Barents Blue project

(CercleFinance.com) - The operator Horisont Energi has announced that Fertiberia has become a new partner in the Barents Blue project.


As a result, the previous partners Equinor and Vår Energi are leaving the project, as per the cooperation agreement expired on 31 January.

Barents Blue aims to produce ammonia from natural gas in the Barents Sea, capture the CO2 and store it under the seabed.

This storage project, called CO2 Polaris, involved the same partners as the Barents Blue project. As a result, Equinor has also decided to no longer participate in the Polaris CO2 storage project.
