Equinor: contracts finalised in New York State

(CercleFinance.com) - Equinor and bp announce that they have entered into a series of agreements with the State of New York for the supply of wind energy from three large-scale projects located off the US coast.


The purchase and sale agreements (PSAs) were signed with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), the state's public benefit corporation.

They complete the contracts that were awarded to the two groups in January 2021 for the supply of wind energy to the State of New York.

The agreement is one of the largest renewable energy deals ever signed in the US.

Under the terms of the contract, Equinor and bp will supply enough electricity from their offshore wind farms at Empire Wind 1, Empire Wind 2 and Beacon Wind 1 to power two million New York homes.
