Equinor: drills dry well in the North Sea

(CercleFinance.com) - Equinor has drilled a dry well in the northern part of the North Sea, 120 kilometres northwest of Bergen, the Norwegian Petroleum group said on Monday.


The well encountered water in both sandstone intervals, which discovery was proven in November 2019.

The operator's estimate prior to drilling of the well was between 6 million and 16 million standard cubic metres of recoverable oil equivalent.

The well had been permanently plugged and abandoned.
